I find Hopper's depiction of light fascinating. The rich colours of his paintings are wonderfully suggestive of mood and space, yet his scenes contain relatively sparse details.

I chose to emphasise the role of colour in film-making the same way, by paring back detail til all that remained was a camera and the light it can work with.

Blackmagic's primary market is the United States. I chose palettes representative of Hopper's paintings and landmark American films for this campaign.
